Pastor Steve came to the Olney Church in July, 2001. Before that, he was Sr. Pastor of the Clay City, Indiana Free Methodist Church during 1994 - 2001 and Associate Pastor of Youth and Music at the Bloomington, Indiana Free Methodist Church from 1985 - 1994. He also served as Youth and Music Pastor of the Olney Free Methodist Church for nine months in 1982 - 1983.
He received a B.A. in music from Greenville College in 1982 and is currently working on a Masters in Leadership and Ministry, also from Greenville. As a member of the Wabash Conference of the Free Methodist Church he has served on the Youth Committee, Finance Committee, and is currently a member of the Board of Administration and Wabash Park Camp Board.
He and his wife, Liesl, have three children, Zach, Tanner and Josh, all of whom are students in the East Richland School District.
In his spare time, Pastor Steve enjoys attending his boys basketball, baseball, soccer games, band concerts, and other school activities. He also likes to spend time fishing, although he is by no means highly skilled at it (thankfully, his family doesn't depend on what he catches to provide their food). If you ever call to talk with him and you are told "he is out on visitation", ask for more details...You see, he named his Jon boat "Visitation".
Pastor Steve's passion is to see the individual members of the Body of Christ discovering their unique gifts, talents, personalities and passions, then using them together to create a healthy church that is reaching out to a world around them with the love of God.
